BOHEMIAN HISTORY, POCITOS CHARM:
This Pocitos Apartments were originally constructed as a house in 1922, and were later
renovated in the early 1980s by Peter Raith, a German who lived in Montevideo for
over two decades and added the top stories to the hotel in his eclectic and Bohemian
style -- with touches like a Roman tub, ensuite bar on the top apartment, etc.
Downstairs the restaurant -- named "Bar Munich" at the time -- was famous in Pocitos
and Montevideo as a hang-out for some of the country's top politicians and many ex-pats.
Often things would go early into the morning, wheeling-and-dealing, laughs and many
rounds of drinks at the bar . . . and no doubt a lot of tall stories as the nights wore on!

GROUND FLOOR: Bar Rocco Restaurant.
2nd FLOOR: Office-apartment with 800 square feet and balcony, two public bathrooms and laundry area.
3rd FLOOR: Three-room dwelling with 800 square feet and balcony.
4th FLOOR: Apartment with 420 sq feet, 280-square-foot terrace, fireplace and outdoor barbecue.
5th FLOOR: Apartment with 420 sq feet and 130-sq-foot balcony, fireplace, and Roman marble bathtub.
6th FLOOR & 7th FLOOR: Apartment has 130 sq feet and balcony on the 6th floor
plus 200 sq feet with 150 sq feet of terrace with barbecue on 7th floor.
